A couple tried to lure two young boys into their house by telling them they had Pokemon there, police said.
Detectives claim the man and the woman attempted to entice the two children into their home as they spotted them playing Pokemon Go.
While playing the game, the boys – aged 10 and 11 – were approached and told the couple had Pokemon at their house.
They said the children should go back their house in Essex to see it.
The boys had been playing the game with their mums on a green close to the swimming pool at Lower Marine Parade in Harwich, on the coast of Essex.
Both the boys refused to go back to the couple's house and ran back to their mums, who contacted Essex Police .
Officers are now appealing for any information and have released descriptions of the pair.
The man has been described as white, in his late 20s, 5ft 6in tall with dark brown hair.

The news comes after police issued a warning to parents and children about the latest must-have smartphone app.
Experts have said some of the 50,000 registered sex offenders in the UK could use the game to target kids.
Police said there is a risk that the game’s use of the GPS system on children’s phones could be used to alert strangers to their location.
Using GPS technology, players have to ‘find’ and capture Pokemon characters roaming around, cleverly blending virtual reality with real-life.
